Marilyn
stars in Ned Ambler’s new movie, Astin Valentine: Unrestricted,
which opened March 2, 2004 at Film Anthology Archives. She plays 80s Icon
Elektra Reign. “ASTIN VALENTINE: Unrestricted” portrays
the frontman of the multi-platinum-record-selling band, Used Merchandise,
in a light previously unseen in any other documentary about him or the band.
Shot mostly at Astin’s home in New York City after the stadium-packed
‘Ladykiller Tour” in 2003, the film was initially intended to
be included as a bonus featurette on USED MERCHANDISE: THE GREATEST VIDEOS
DVD but was deemed too shocking and unflattering by the band’s German-based
record label. Later, with the ‘reality TV phenomena’ finally
hitting Germany, the label retracted their statements about the project
and released it to great success throughout Europe. The film includes instrumental
versions of “Honest Victory”, “War of Love”, “Up
For It” and “Ladykiller” and features appearances by members
of Pheromones, The Bastards, 80’s icon Elektra Reign, as well as Miss
Burlesque USA 2004, and titleholder Little Kenny of the World Wrestling
Association. Not to be missed! |
